20 years ago CEO Peter Loew and Heinz Saller founded InfoChem, one of the leading companies regarding handling and retrieval of structure and reaction information. On its anniversary InfoChem celebrates 20 years of successful software developments (e.g. ICCARTRIDGE, SPRESIweb, CLASSIFY) and reliable partnerships (Symyx, Thieme, BASF, etc.).

Germany's federal government and the Laender Gemeinsamen Stoffdatenpool Bund/Länder announce the launch of the new online application "GSBL Webapplikation 3.x". InfoChem as a strategic partner of the Umweltbundesamt has been responsible for the development and maintenance of the innovative and user friendly web based user interface of GSBL. Moreover, the hosting, maintenance and user administration of the web application is operated by InfoChem. The GSBL (Gemeinsamen Stoffdatenpool Bund/Länder) database can now be used via the Internet giving the public free access to critical information about 400,000 chemical substances. Version 1.0 of ICCHEMDESK InfoChem's desktop client application for management and visualization of chemical structure and reaction data, has been launched.

InfoChem's project "ChemProspector - Intelligent search of chemical structures in documents" announced among the winners of the "THESEUS MITTELSTAND" technology contest. THESEUS is a flagship initiative of the German Ministry of Economy and Technology and the goal of the contest is openening possibilities for small- and medium-sized enterprises to create the Internet of the future. With ChemProspector InfoChem wants to develop a platform for storage and retrieval of generic chemical structures contained in documents that can be stored in local and in external databases. The goal is to give scientists in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry as well as in patent offices the possibility of locating effectively representations of chemical structures and the respective patents.
